Privacy Notice
Last updated: Aug 18, 2026
This privacy notice describes how Dinnerveloper, LLC ("Dinnerveloper", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Medal Menu — including the websites at www.medalmenu.com and app.medalmenu.com, and the Medal Menu mobile applications for Android and iOS (together, the "Service").
It explains:
- What information we collect and how we use it.
- Who we share information with, and why.
- What is visible to other users.
- How long we keep information, and how to delete your account.
- The choices and rights you have.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you create an account we collect a username, display name, and email address, and either a password or a linked sign-in provider (see below). You may optionally add a profile picture.
Content you create. Menus, menu items, recipes, ingredients, images you upload, and — if you take part in a community — recipe board posts, comments, and votes.
Information from sign-in providers. If you choose to continue with Google, Apple, or Facebook, that provider gives us your email address and, in some cases, your name. We use it to create or match your account. We do not receive your password from them.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number. We store a Stripe customer identifier, a subscription identifier, the plan's status and billing cadence, and the current period end date.
Device and usage information. If you enable push notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver them. Our servers and analytics provider record standard technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, and pages viewed.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate the Service: to create and secure your account, store and display your menus and content, deliver the community features you take part in, process subscriptions, send transactional email such as email verification and password resets, send push notifications you have enabled, and to understand and improve how the Service is used.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We share information with service providers who help us run the Service, only to the extent needed to do so:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, database, image storage, and outbound email.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivery of push notifications.
- ImageKit — image delivery for shared and social preview images.
- Google Analytics — website usage analytics.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Dinnerveloper or others.
Content You Share With Others
Medal Menu is partly a sharing product, and some of what you create is visible beyond your own account:
- Menus you mark as public, or share into a community, are visible to the people that sharing allows.
- Recipe board posts, comments, and votes are visible to other members of that community, alongside your display name and profile picture.
Please treat anything you post into a community as visible to that community. When your account is deleted, these contributions are retained but are no longer connected to you — see Retention and Deletion below.
Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a device token in order to send them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, which stops delivery.
Cookies
We use cookies on our websites. A session cookie keeps you signed in as you move between pages; that cookie is associated with your account for as long as your session lasts. Other cookies, including those set by Google Analytics, help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though signing in will not work without the session cookie.
Web Analytics
Our websites use Google Analytics, which transmits usage data to Google servers in the United States. We use its reports to understand traffic and page usage. We do not use it to identify individual users.
Retention and Deletion
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists.
You can delete your account at any time from within the Medal Menu app, or by contacting us. Deleting your account takes effect immediately: your menus are hidden, you are signed out everywhere, push notifications stop, and any paid subscription is cancelled at the end of the period you have already paid for.
For 30 days you can restore your account by signing in again. After that, your name, username, email address, password, profile picture, and linked sign-in details are permanently removed and the account cannot be restored.
Contributions you made to shared communities — recipe board posts, comments, and votes — are retained so those communities' history remains intact for their other members. Once your account is deleted these appear as "Deleted user" and are no longer connected to you. Your own menus are retained in a hidden state and are not visible to anyone.
Full details are on Deleting Your Account.
Children
Medal Menu is not directed to children. You must be 18 or older, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights and Choices
You can, at any time:
- See and correct your account information from your profile.
- Delete your account from within the app, as described above.
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in any such message. We will still send transactional messages such as email verification, password resets, and billing notices.
To ask what information we hold about you, to request a copy or correction, or to raise a concern, contact us at privacy@medalmenu.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; contact us and we will tell you how we can help.
Security
We take precautions to protect your information. Information is transmitted to us over encrypted connections, passwords are stored hashed rather than in readable form, and card details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our systems. Access to personal information is limited to those who need it to operate the Service.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Changes To This Notice
We may update this notice as the Service changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
